This was a gift for someone who wanted to see what was happened in the evening and night. She stated that every day the battery would go dead and she would only capture a couple pictures. One picture showed 5-6 deer, but no activation of them kicking off the video. I thought she was doing something wrong, so I brought it home, and besides the batteries going dead every day or two, the camera missing a flock of turkeys walking up to the house, but shows one picture of them. I reached out to the company for a return, but as of today, sadly, I have not heard back and felt it was important to add my review of this item.

This camera is very hard to use. The instructions are not clear. I couldn¡¯t get mine to work other than manual snapshots.

First of all, I hate returning anything, I tried hard to like it but it fails in too many ways.
1- One overnight rain and it was full of water inside, bad design. It was latched well and nothing one can do but put it inside a plastic bag? place it inside a box? had water in the battery compartment as well. Water condensation on monitor screen and front panel.
2- Comes with 4 AA batteries, but requires 8
3-The night vision photos are really grainy and bad, and I did set up for the optimum as I purchased a larger capacity memory card.
4- I mounted a motion sensor right under it, the sensor sounded the alarm every time a bunny passed in the trail, this camera does not sense anything smaller than a human and missed myself about 70% on my first tests
5- Sensor is just not there.
Did a got a lemon? let the seller find out…retuned today

I purchased this camper at the end of August. I took acceptable pics for 2 months and the stopped taking pics at all. I have tried different cards and formatted each. The motion just won¡¯t trip. Get what you pay for.

Gave this trail camera a good review back in June. It has been 6 months since we have had it. Got to where it would not take pictures. The company reached out and sent a new camera. You can’t ask for better customer service than that. Just received a new camera and will try it out.

Corrupted Junk Beware. Believe the reviews about this thing. Worked for less than 3 days. Started out ok, got video of me setting up initial test, and then final set after a 12 hour check. Next day, nothing recorded. On third day, said “incompatible card”–that the maker included! Also ran down batteries that maker sent from full charge alkaline to 1/4 full, so batteries are junk as others have said. Have a predator problem on farm. Lost 4 birds in two days right in front of camera. First time did not record, second time says files no good. So not only lost money on this camera, but also on insurance that I bought to cover it, plus cost of my dead fowl. Temp got down to 34 degrees F on second night. Is that the problem? Supposed work to -4 F. Not even gonna put up with this . Returned and now have to travel an hour to drop off at UPS, cost gas for that, and have to wait for them to recieve before I get my money back! I have a bull that makes pies that I can tell you what I think of this experience.

I got this trail camera to see what was coming thru my backyard at night.
The first use was great, then the camera card would not work. Windows could not read the files, I have formatted it via the computer as well as the cameras format and nothing was working.
With help from an awesome customer Rep and the the after sales team we diagnosed and FIXED the issue. The camera is now working perfectly and I have some really great pictures and videos of my backyard wild life.
Thank you to everyone who helped me.

I am revising my original review and giving the camera five stars. Here is why: There is nothing wrong with the camera. Instead, its memory card was defective. I installed a new name-brand card and 100-percent of the pictures turned out perfectly! I’m pleased.
Now, back to the original review:
I am delighted with the daytime pictures taken by this unit. They are sharp and the colors are true. The night shots are every bit as good as those taken by a much more expensive trail camera.
That’s the good.
Quite a few frames were only partially recorded at the top and the rest of the frame was blank. I don’t know if it is caused by the camera or a poor memory card; so, today I installed a new one of known quality. At any rate, as time went by the problem lessened a great deal.
The door/battery compartment fastens to the tripod. When the unit is opened the whole camera swings. That’s a little bit unhandy; but, I can live with it.
So far, it has been out in the rain and snow and it has not leaked. That said, considering some of the complaints about it I may fashion a cover to provide added protection–just in case.
A person gets what they pay for. One cannot expect Cadillac performance at a junker price. 🙂
I am not disappointed as long as it keeps working the way it has been.

THE CUSTOMER SERVICE REP HAD ABSOLUTELY NO ISSUES WITH REPLACING THE ENTIRE CAMERA WITH A NEW ONE, AND USED EXPEDITED SHIPPING.

I’ve used this for about 3 weeks, and it is very easy to use, and I would recommend it but here are a few issues you should know;
1. The vertical scan is not as sufficient as I would like. I had it higher up in tree so that no one can tamper with it, but it would not pickup. Approximate height is 4-5 ft from ground. You need to experiment with the the height to get your optimum performance.
2. keep checking batteries, once they get weak, capture is deficient and the time length will be truncated.
3. Since this is just camera, security is big issue, anyone can come along and snatch the camera or open camera and steal memory card. Big issue! YOU NEED BUY A SECRUTITY BOX AND ENCLOSE THE CAMERA IN THE SECURITY BOX! Warning! Failure to do so will compromise the camera.
Overall once enclosed in security box, it is a very good field camera.

Let me start by saying that I hunt. I’ve been deer hunting for over 30 years and I bought this trail cam for watching deer movement near one of my stands. I started using trail cams almost immediately after they came out so I have some experience with some good cams and some bad ones as well.
This cam has been out in my woods for almost a month. It’s still on the first set of 8 batteries and they appear to still be going strong. I get a few hundred pictures every 4 or 5 days. Mostly night shots since the deer around here have become quite nocturnal from the onset of firearm deer season. I’ve had quite a lot of rain/snow here and the unit has stayed dry inside and free of fog. Like many have said, the user manual is crap but I didn’t really need anything out of it. When I set up a trail cam I am not concerned with video or high resolution pictures. I just want to know what is coming into my stand and when. I set my trail cams up for the lowest resolution because I don’t need that much to see a deer 30 – 50 feet away from the cam. It also helps with battery life I think.
So, I set my cams up on a tree about waist height and I tilt them down a few degrees by putting a piece of a stick behind the top of the cam and tighten the strap. This helps with false triggers (IMO). For this cam I started it off at medium sensitivity but after the first batch of photos I increased it to high. I set the delay between photos at 5 sec. I also point the cam down the trail, not across it. It is important to remove anything close to the cam that will reflect the IR light or trigger excessive pictures when moving in the breeze such as any plants, weeds or branches. You want a clear area about 15 feet or more out and to the sides of the cam.
The pictures I got from this camera at night were sometimes a little blurry from the deer moving but I kind of expect that. The great majority of the photos I got were very clear and easy to see what had triggered the picture. I honestly wasn’t expecting too much from this cam in general but it really blew me away at how well it has done in its first month. Out of a few thousand pictures there are maybe 2 or 3 false triggers. Every photo has something in it. Mostly deer but squirrels and possums too which says that it is triggering from animal (heat) movement and not just twigs or leaves getting blown around.
I have to give this cam very high marks for the price. Like the title says, I would and will buy a few more.

I don’t have any pics to share because my boyfriend currently has them mounted out where he hunts, but we have brought them home to check them and the image quality is really good. We set one up for video and the other for photos. They were very easy to set up. We left them out for a day, then brought them home and connected them to our TV to view the footage, and we are both happy with the range as well as the video and photo quality. I plan on buying more to set up.

45 out of the first 117 photos taken are partially or completely corrupted. The pictures that are clean are nice, high quality but still, 39% of the pictures are worthless or almost worthless

this is not the same color as shown in picture, i am a lil disappointed in that…i can not give a full description on this product till i further use.

We used it for seeing when stray cats were eating in our backyard at night, so we could get them neutered. It was perfect and just took a quiet picture when there was movement and the time and date stamp was awesome to know when our visitors were arriving, and which visitors they were.

It took setting up in a couple places as it is very sensitive, it picked up cars passing in the first set maybe 400 yards. Next set it picked up a wind mill moving and leave movement. I finally got it looking in areas with little to no movement. Here’s a couple pictures I got with the camera, some are cropped and others not.
I bought two of these and one went bad about 8 months after I purchased it. Contacted the company via emails and I had a new camera shipped within days. I wish all customer service was as good. Nice work the SERVICE!

?I was looking for some trail cameras to place in my yard to monitor a group of foxes that were passing through in the evening. I also built a chicken coop and have some chickens so I now I mainly use the cameras to monitor predator activity.
I bought two and placed them at various locations and experimented with both still images and video. Both options work well. The video quality seems to be better for daytime activity but still not bad at night. The video also records audio. I like that the system interface gives you the option to extend video length. I started recording 10s video clips which is the default but decided to extend to 20s just to be able to see more of the activity. Keep in mind that longer video clips mean that your memory card stores fewer clips and you will also drain your batteries faster. I generally check every few days and will delete the clips that are not worth keeping or I will transfer clips to my computer and format the card. Regarding battery life, the camera will function with either 4 AA or 8 AA batteries. Using 8 will give more overall life. I seem to be averaging about 1 month on a full set of fresh batteries. The camera comes with a basic 32GB microSD card. The base card has been working fine.
I have been very pleased with the camera and would recommend purchasing.
